Accounting and Finance

OVERVIEW

Accounting and finance are part of the backbone in the creation and success of any business. The Accounting and Finance program offered by the Business Department provides a comprehensive view of financial management and can open doors to a wide variety of career prospects for our students.

The program focuses on teaching accounting and financial theories, and applied concepts needed to interact with executives and workers in the local market. It also provides the knowledge and skills to integrate business administration with management accounting, cost accounting, financial management, and auditing.

Learning Outcomes

  • Have in-depth knowledge of scientific theories, methods, principles, standards, and advanced accounting and financial processes
  • Have advanced knowledge of underlying accounting, and use the knowledge in new settings within accounting and finance.
  • Synthesize financial and other accounting information by preparing financial statements that fairly reflect economic events.
  • Describe, explain, and integrate fundamental concepts underlying accounting, finance, management, marketing, and economics
  • Use information to support business processes and practices, such as problem analysis and decision making Apply quantitative skills to help analyze and solve business problems and to take advantage of business opportunities

  • Analyze existing theories, methods, and interpretations within the subject areas of the program and work independently on practical and professional problem-solving.

     

  • Accomplish an independent, well-defined research and development project under guidance in accordance with professional codes of ethics and norms.

     

  • Develop creativity and innovation skills in accounting and finance such as auditing, budget planning, and control, as well as documentation, financial measurement, analysis, and reporting. by working with practical applications.

  • At the end of the program, students will be able to work in small interdisciplinary groups on accounting and finance firms

  • At the end of this program, students will be able to identify and argue their own position from a financial perspective.

  • Students will demonstrate competency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, and Processing financial transactions throughout the accounting cycle.

  • Students will impart knowledge about comprehensive, independent reports and have a complete command of the technical terms of the subjects in the program

     

  • Students will impart the knowledge and skills listed above to provide insightful advisory judgments and recommendations regarding the accounting for and the business implications

Career Opportunities

High opportunities in scientific disciplines in the business sector, namely, the financial department

Working in financial management at all brokerage firms, insurance companies and banks

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  1. The student must have obtained at least 65% in the high school certificate or its equivalent
  2. The Certificate Equivalency Letter from the Ministry of Education must be provided in case the student obtained a high school certificate from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  3. The student must not be registered in another university or college.
  4. The student must pass the English placement test and any other tests determined by the college as one of the admission requirements.
  5. The student must be medically fit.
