OVERVIEW

In the last decade, the Interior Design specialization is in high demand for local industry. The Design program at Jeddah International College (JIC) was created with the aim to deliver specialized professionals to serve the best economic, cultural, and creative developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for both female and male students. Our goal is to enhance the field of interior design by combining innovative research with technological expertise in the quest of excellence. JIC’s faculty and students aspire to enhance environmental design discourse and integrate research and technical skills.

MISSION

To foster creativity and equip the interior design students with theoretical knowledge as well as practical, technical and research skills in meeting the design market requirements and serving the community.

  • K2: Explain the context of various theoretical, historical, cultural dimensions impacting design research and practice
  • K3: Recognize the role of human factors, standards, and codes in architectural drawings
  • S1: Use research based knowledge and methods to generate appropriate design solutions
  • S2: Apply concepts in fostering creative interior design projects
  • S3: Create professional interior design drawings, models and renderings
  • S4: Communicate digitally, verbally, and written to a wide variety of audiences
  • V1: Display professional and academic ethics in the design practice
  • V2: Demonstrate responsibility to work with autonomy, self-direction and team work in executing design process.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  1. The student must have obtained at least 65% in the high school certificate or its equivalent
  2. The Certificate Equivalency Letter from the Ministry of Education must be provided in case the student obtained a high school certificate from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  3. The student must not be registered in another university or college.
  4. The student must pass the English placement test and any other tests determined by the college as one of the admission requirements.
  5. The student must be medically fit.
