In a remarkable sporting event Jeddah International College proudly hosted the Saudi Chess Championship over five consecutive days , with the participation of top players from various regions of the Kingdom.
The championship featured nine rounds of intense competition conducted under the official regulations of the Saudi Chess Federation, with a total prize pool of 50,000 SAR .
The tournament kicked off on the first day with the first and second rounds, followed by the third and fourth rounds on the second day, amid great enthusiasm from the participants . On the third day, the fifth and sixth rounds took place, while the seventh and eighth rounds were held on the fourth day, where competition intensified and the strongest players stood out .
The fifth and final day witnessed the final round, filled with excitement and anticipation, followed by an award ceremony attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Masoudi, President of the Saudi Chess Federation, and Mr. Motaz Al-Thaqafi from Jeddah International College .
During the ceremony, female champions were honored in the top ranks of the women’s category, while male winners received recognition for the top three positions in the men’s category, along with Under 18 and Under 14 categories. The referees were also honored in appreciation of their efforts .
The event concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields between Jeddah International College and the Saudi Chess Federation, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and active partnership between educational institutions and sports federations — in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 goals of promoting and developing sports across the Kingdom .
